Wednesday Links and a Personal Challenge

So, we have been talking about introducing a new feature called "Personal Challenges." Nothing has materialized yet, so I thought I would call out my fellow writers here. This is the way it will work. One of the contributors will "challenge" the fellow writers to watch a certain film. Ideally, this will take each one of us out of our comfort zones, introduce us to new films, and, hopefully, provide you with some sort of entertainment as Ben makes Michael and I watch movies like Bad Boys. Then we will each write a post featuring our three opinions. Please feel free to join in by watching the challenged movies as well.

So, Ben and Michael, I am challenging you to watch Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries (1957). It is conveniently streaming on Netflix, so it is easily accessible.

And as promised, here are some interesting links for you to check out:

  • Empire has composed a list of actor/director collaborations.

  • A site ran by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation (if you listen to NPR, you've heard this name a thousand times) that features news about the Foundation's activities.

  • A fellow blogger discusses the Art of Movie Posters. It appears that he also does a guilty pleasure section and used the The Saint as well, thieving bastard.
